Job Description

Odyssey House Victoria offers two rounds of student intake, at the beginning of the year and then mid year. Applications can be submitted at any time but will be reviewed during December/January for semester 1 and June/July for Semester 2. 

We have finished accepting applications for the first half of 2024. We are currently accepting applications for placements for the second half of the year, commencing from August 2024.

Job Description

Student placement - North West Catchment

Location

For this placement, you would be based at the Footscray centre with intermittent work at other sites within the North West region of Melbourne. Students on placement in the North West will need to have a police check and a Working with Children Check

 

Eligibility

 

  • Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Master of Social Work, Counselling or Psychology

 

Masters’ students and or final year undergraduate students, with previous placement experience or relevant work experience are preferred.

  • Diploma in Mental Health or Community Services

 

Your placement would include:

  • Duty work for central intake
  • Completing comprehensive assessments
  • Developing individual treatment plans
  • Providing brief interventions
  • Participating in clinical reviews and clinical supervision
  • Joining our Care & Recovery Workers in their outreach and advocacy functions

If you are completing a long placement, you may be responsible for a counselling caseload.
