Student placement – North West Catchment

Location

For this placement, you would be based at the Footscray Centre with intermittent work at other sites within the North West region of Melbourne. Students on placement in the North West will need to have a police check and a Working with Children Check

• Master of Social Work or Counselling.

Your placement would include:

For Social Work Students:

• • A day in the life of this position includes duty in central intake, completing comprehensive assessments, developing individual treatment plans and providing brief interventions. Your assessment and treatment plans will address risk for both the client and their family and social network. You will participate in clinical reviews and clinical supervision. You will be responsible for a counselling caseload, join our Care & Recovery Coordination (CRC). Workers in their outreach and advocacy functions, and provide facilitation support to our therapeutic day program.

For Counselling Students:

• • A day in the life of this position includes duty in central intake, completing comprehensive assessments, developing individual treatment plans, and making referrals, and providing brief interventions. Your assessment and treatment plans will address risk for both the client and their family and social network. You will participate in clinical reviews and clinical supervision. You will be responsible for a counselling caseload, including the development of therapeutic treatment plans and case recording.
