Role Purpose:
The Southeastern Consortium of Alcohol and other Drug Agencies (SECADA) comprises the Windana (lead agency) in collaboration with OV, YSAS and Monash Health.
The AOD Clinician Intake & Assessment is responsible for providing intake and assessment services to reduce AOD related harms to individuals and their families by linking clients into treatment, providing phone intakes, assessments and AOD brief interventions. The position aims to assist clients to access and engage in AOD services, provide psychoeducation, and build insight, motivation and provide harm minimisation and risk management strategies.
Key areas of focus:

Participating in clinical review meetings, including making recommendations on risk, priority, and treatment plans.

Maintaining a high standard of documentation, data collection and processes which comply with the accountability structures of professional, legislative, service contractual obligations and organisational standards. This includes ensuring that client files and
electronic records are appropriate, accurate and up to date, with all relevant information included and maintained in a confidential manner.
To be successful in this role, you must…

Relevant Health, Social or Welfare related degree/tertiary qualification with one-years’ experience and/or substantial experience or an Associate Diploma with relevant experience .

Proven ability to effectively work with people and families experiencing problematic alcohol and other drugs use in a respectful, compassionate, and positive manner.

Demonstrated understanding of community-based interventions for reducing alcohol and drug related harm.

Proven ability to work with a range of people and organisations (including specific work groups such as Aboriginal, CALD and Forensic clients) in a non-judgmental and respectful manner.

A demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the ability to take appropriate individual and team responsibility for the welfare of clients.

Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, colleagues, stakeholders, and other service providers.

Certificate IV in AOD or have completed the required competencies (or able to complete within the first 12 months of employment)
